Politicians Don’t Belong in the Classroom…

It is time to speak up and DO what needs to be done to help ALL young minds in society. Allowing students from all environments, learning styles and personality to feel cared about cannot be fostered from an organization whose main players consist of many egotistical politicians who see numbers as success instead of individuals who grow into a valued member of society. One’s basic needs must be met before any learning can occur. The need to love and be loved is a basic instinct. Love is not based on a number: test score ranking, ID number 112345. Teachers teach because they love. They care for every student. Teachers would step in front of a bullet to protect those in their care, but most often teachers give food to the one who is hungry, a smile to the one who feels invisible, and a voice to the one who cannot speak. Many times, the system takes advantage of teachers by thrusting unrealistic expectations upon them. It is ironic. Unrealistic expectations thrust upon students is taboo. There is a teacher shortage. The organization is now reaping the harvest they have sewn. Where there is no love there is no care – where there is no care- a crop cannot thrive, and a crop that does not thrive has no value. In the classroom, a valued, safe learning environment not only relates to physical safety, but to an environment where caring verses fear opens the gate to a world of thinkers… creators of individual learners. Numbers have nothing to do with love, but love has everything to do with education.
